I constantly pull the shaft, brief distance or not, that front bearing is not getting oil. We had one years ago that was going less than 1 km, motorist didn't pull the shaft and it ended up costing us an engine. In some way the tranny was either left in equipment, or popped into equipment while in tow, and started turning the engine over.
